The album was recorded by Nick Pim at his lovely home in Santa Rosa, CA
Then mixed by our very own Audrey Knuth
Then mastered by our very own Matt Takiff
The roots of the music that we play are buried in the Appalachian tradition, then we painted them with colors that we like. We love traditional tunes, the depth and insight into a culture that comes with studying this music. We also love each other, listening, and speaking our stories in the old way. And we love you.
We've recorded our musical conversations, weaving our fiddles through these tunes and we're so glad to share it. All the recording happened in one day in the hills outside of Santa Rosa right at the end of the rainy season. In between takes we would hang out with cows and goats. We laughed a lot and created an honest representation of what it's like to hang and play tunes with us. We're part of an aural tradition. What you hear is who we are.
