Nick and Matt spent a night searching through songs and sounds, out in the hills of Ukiah California, next to a pond where a chorus of frogs cheered them on. We filled the room with microphones so we could see what our friendship sounds like, then put our friendship on the internet.
How can we infuse our music with joy, creating a work of art that oozes with the fleeting spiritual connections that music is so famous for? This recording is not a means to any end, it just is, it exists, and it was created, quickly with a depth of intention remarkable for brevity of the birth. The conception entailed wandering conversation about art, love, food, God, time, self worth, future plans, past plans followed by a dunk in a super duper cold pond and journeying through notebooks with bent corners and semi-legible scribbles.
We were very particular to not take anything too seriously at risk of ruining music, music has a strong metaphoric connection to everything in and out of this world. Because of the little lines that only some people see that are physically connecting every being and manifestation, every action that we carry out has far reaching scrutable consequences only dreamed about in dreams, but sometimes we dream when we're awake and that's ok too. So to ruin music could ruin lots of other things...we're not trying to capture music and hold it in place, we're trying to share it, with love.
